New Islamabad airport’s project director goes missing

Islamabad June 17 (TNS): The project director of the New Islamabad Airport went missing under mysterious circumstances late on Friday night.

Police quoting the family members said that Air commodore (retd) Shahid Aslam, who is the project director of the New Islamabad Airport, left home at around 8:30 on Friday night but he did not return while his phone number was going switched off. The family feared that he may have been kidnapped. Aslam’s brother-in-law has lodged an FIR with the Shalimar Police Station.

The mysterious disappearance of the top official has raised eyebrows with some suggesting that Aslam may have been kidnapped in an attempt to delay work on the New Islamabad Airport, which is scheduled to be completed by August.
