ISLAMABAD, Aug 17 (TNS): There is no room for arrogance and deceit in politics as it demands dialogue and tolerance, said Rehman Malik in a statement here on Thursday.
“Any grand alliance formed by the opposition parties will be led by the PPP as it is the biggest political party of Pakistan,” he said.
The PPP leader said: “When we wanted amendment in Articles 62 and 63 of the Constitution, Nawaz Sharif was unwilling to support us. Now, when he feels the pain of it after becoming its victim, he has started talking of amendment.”
“The PML-N has got two-third majority in the parliament, who prevents it from making amendments now,” added the PPP leader.
“His parliamentary politics has ended, therefore, he has every right to indulge in street politics,” he added.
He said the PPP is not going to side with the PML-N, terming it as propaganda against the party. “Asif Ali Zardari’s Lahore visit was fixed long before the disqualification of Mian Nawaz Sharif, he added.
“The PPP will do whatever is in the interest of democracy and the future of the country, said Rehman Malik adding that nobody can become Khan just by being called as Khan — in a vague reference to PTI chief Imran Khan.
The PPP is focusing on Punjab province these days, he said.
