Nurses protest outside KP Assembly, demand time-scale, promotion

Peshawar April 18 (TNS): Hundreds of nurses and paramedical staff took to the streets in Peshawar on Wednesday, seeking to meet their genuine demands at the earliest.

The nurses and other paramedical staff, who staged the protest outside the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, said that they have not been given time-scale, one step up-gradtion and health professional allowance for the last many years.

The protesting nurses also demanded that all nursing schools should be detached from the control of PHSA and should be given under the control of the secretary health. The nurses and other paramedical staff also demanded that unsanctioned people should be evicted from the hostel of Postgraduate College of Nursing. They also demanded that the nurses who had been inducted under the MTI should be regularized and they should be given perks and privileges like other government servants.
