Official pistol of IGP Islamabad stolen


Islamabad, Sept. 4 (TNS): In a weird incident, official pistol of top official of Islamabad police has been stolen, sources said on Tuesday.

According to sources, an investigation was launched by Islamabad Police after the official pistol and documents belonging to Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jan Muhammad were stolen.

The matter regarding the theft of the pistol and documents was reported to the police headquarters on Friday, after which an inquiry was launched.

Sources claimed that the stolen pistol was issued to the IG’s gunman and was not the top official’s personal weapon.

Valuables were also stolen from the car while it was parked at the IG’s official residence in Sector F-7.

According to a source, “The incident perhaps took place last week but was reported on Friday. The matter is under inquiry.”
