Pak, China agree to continue efforts for peaceful settlement in Afghanistan

Islamabad, Nov 13 (TNS): Pakistan and China have agreed to continue efforts for peaceful and political settlement in Afghanistan.

The understanding has reached during meeting between China’s Special Envoy on Afghan Affairs, Ambassador Deng Xijun and Foreign Secretary Sohail Mahmood in Islamabad.

The Foreign Secretary shared Pakistan’s perspective on Pakistan-Afghanistan bilateral relations, Afghanistan’s peace and reconciliation process and Afghanistan-China-Pakistan trilateral dialogue.

The Foreign Secretary also appreciated Beijing’s positive contributions to Kabul’s national development and assured of Islamabad’s continued support in this context.

Special Envoy Ambassador Xijun said that close cooperation between the two countries is essential to ensuring Afghan peace and reconciliation process.
