Pakistan Ambassador says border management with Afghanistan key to counterterrorism efforts


Washington June 09 (TNS): Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States Aizaz Chaudhry on Friday met with US Congressman from New York, Nita Lowey, and discussed bilateral matters including economic, social and security.
Ambassador Chaudhry briefed the lawmaker about the counter-terrorism efforts Pakistan was making saying Pakistan has made a phenomenal progress in stemming terrorism security and improving the national economy.
He stated that border management with Afghanistan was a key to protecting Pakistan’s achievements in defeating terrorism.
The ambassador also briefed the Congresswoman about the reconstruction work in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas and said the government was building schools, health facilities in the tribal areas that will benefit the common man.
Chaudhry also expressed Pakistan’s desire to promote stronger relations with the United States.
