Pakistan urged US to work together for peace in the region: says Asif

Islamabad, Sept 21 (TNS): Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif says Pakistan has asked the United States to work together for peace in the region, state media reported on Thursday.

Talking to a private news channel, he said Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has apprised the United States about the efforts of Pakistan for restoration of peace.

The Minister said Pakistan wants to have good relations with United States based on mutual respect.

He said Pakistan also apprised the United States that strong border management system and repatriation of Afghan refugees will help address issues. He said Pakistan had banned the defunct organizations according to the law of the country.
