Pakistan wants to strengthen its partnership with Turkey: says Defence minister


Islamabad, Sept 06 (TNS): Minister for Defence Khurram Dastgir Khan has reiterated Pakistan’s strong desire to strengthen its partnership with Turkey in all fields including defense cooperation.

He was talking to Ambassador of Turkey S. Babur Girgin in Islamabad on Wednesday.

The Minster appreciated the recent visit of commander Turkish armed forces General Hulusi Akar to further foster the relations between both brotherly countries. He also lauded Turkish cooperation for the construction of fleet tanker for Pakistan Navy.

Earlier, talking to Saudi Ambassador Nawaf Al Malki, Khurram Dastgir emphasized the need for an all encompassing formal defense and strategic cooperation agreement with Saudi Arabia to enhance defense ties between the two countries.

He said Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with Saudi Arabia and desires to further expand cooperation in all fields.
