Pakistan’s sacrifices in war against terrorism can’t be ignored, says Marriyum Aurangzeb


ISLAMABAD Jan 03 (TNS):  Minister of State for Information, Marriyum Aurangzeb says unprecedented sacrifices of Pakistan and its people against war on terror could not be decimated as the nation had lost thousands of lives.

Talking to private news channels, she said in view of the obtaining situation, there is need for unity and single voice.

The minister said the drastic reduction in the incidents of terrorism in the country is a result of the measures adopted in consonance and the sacrifices offered by the armed forces.

Marriyum Aurangzeb said Pakistan had extended all possible cooperation to the international community in the war against terrorism after 9/11.

The minister also appreciated the statement by the Chinese government urging the international community to acknowledge the sacrifices made by Pakistan in the war against terrorism.

Meanwhile, the United States once again asked Pakistan to do more if it wants to maintain the US aid.

This was claimed by White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders while talking to reporters in Washington.

The White House spokeswoman said it would likely announce actions to pressure Pakistan within days.

On the other hand, the US Ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, in a news conference in Washington said that Washington would withhold 255 million dollars in assistance to Pakistan.

She said we expect far more cooperation from Pakistan in the fight against terrorism.”
