Islamabad, June 14 (TNS): The security in and around the Judicial Academy is being beefed up ahead of the appearance of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif before the JIT in wake of Panama Papers probe.
IGP Khalid Khatak chaired a meeting to finalize security arrangement for the historic occasion when an elected Prime Minister to be questioned over corruption allegations by lower grade officials.
Safety arrangements have been assigned to Police’s Security and Operational Division.
During PM appearance, 2500 personnel of capital police, traffic police, FC and Rangers to be deployed in and around the Judicial Academy and surrounding buildings to provide security to the Premier according to Blue-book.
Common masses would not allow to reach the premises however entry to media persons yet to be decided.
Other preparations are also underway with full swing in Islamabad ahead of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s appearance before Joint Investigation Team (JIT) probing his offshore assets.
Mayor Rawalpindi and Islamabad arrived outside the judicial academy and reviewed the sanitation and other arrangements.
Dilapidated roads in the vicinity of the building have been repaired.
Hanif Abbasi and other PML-N leaders also visited the area and assessed the preparations. Banners expressing solidarity with the prime minister have also been displayed at various places.
