President summons NA session on August 1 to choose interim PM


Islamabad, July 29 (TNS): To elect interim Prime Minister, President Mamnoon Hussain summoned the session of the National Assembly on August 1 at 5 p.m., state media reported on Saturday.

The President has summoned the National Assembly Session in exercise of powers conferred by clause (1) of Article 54 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

The session of the National Assembly will elect leader of the House. PML-N has nominated Shahid Khaqan Abbasi for interim setup while PTI chosen Sheikh Rasheed as joint candidate of opposition parties.
