Islamabad, Nov 23 (TNS): Prime Minister Imran Khan has said protecting the low income segments of the society is the top most priority of the government.
Addressing an important meeting regarding poverty alleviation and provision of the respectable employment to the youth in Islamabad on Thursday, he said that the government will soon present a detailed programme for poverty alleviation.
Earlier, the Prime Minister was given a detailed briefing by Chairperson Benazir Income Support programme Dr Sania Nishtar about the future course of action about the poverty alleviation and provision of respectable employment top those living under the poverty line. She apprised the prime minister about the lacunas existing in the BISP especially the problems relating to the cash transfer to the deserving people.
The meeting also discussed the future strategy for implementing the Prime Minister’s vision on the stunted growth in children.
The meeting was also attended by Finance Minister Asad Umar, Prime Minister’s advisor Ishrat Hussain, Prime Minister’s Special Assistant Iftikhar Durrani and others.
