Protection of Pakistanis Govt’s top priority: Firdous

Islamabad: March 20, 2020 (TNS): Special Assistant on Information and Broadcasting Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan says protection and security of the people of Pakistan is the top most priority of the government.

In a series of tweets, she said the government has issued orders for all the federal government departments and employees for fifteen days.

The Special Assistant said the officers and staff deputed on important duties will ensure their presence in offices. However, the employees above 50 years of age have been directed to work from home. She said the employees suffering from flu, fever or any other disease will also work from home. She said day care centers will be shut in offices, and the women staff having young babies have been permitted to perform their official responsibilities from home. She said all offices of public service delivery will remain closed.

Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said the offices of excise and taxation, property, parlors and beauty salons will also be closed for fifteen days in the wake of the possible effects of coronavirus. She said shopping malls will be shut at 10:00pm. However, restaurants, food outlets, and the takeaway facilities will be available for public service.

The Special Assistant said that one window operations of NADRA, Passport and Immigration, and CDA as well as services of other sections, which directly do public dealing, have also been suspended for two weeks.
