KARACHI, June 16 (TNS): As per directives of Director General Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQAC) Muhammad Khalid Saddiq, the Mobile Testing Lab Team raided at Max Bachat Supermarket, Hyderabad, Al-Amna Super store Tandoallahyar and different stores in interior Sindh.
On arrival, the team members started checking and collected 40 different brands of various mandatory food items. The team was headed by Engr. Muhammad Hassan Keerio, including some technical officers.
They checked at least 40 food items on the spot out of which the following items were declard sub-standard: 1) Sharjah Brand Cooking Oil of M/s. Hi Tech Oil and Ghee Mills, Kotri, 2) Sharjah Brand Banaspati of M/s. Hi Tech Oil and Ghee Mills, Kotri, 3) Olivola Brand Cooking oil of M/s. PTML, Karachi, 4) Ajwa Brand Cooking Oil of M/s. Gulzar Oil Industries (Pvt.) Ltd; SITE, Kotri, 5) Turmeric, Curry and Red Chilli Powders of M/s. Halwani Foods Products, 6) ullo Brand cooking Oil M/s. Wazir Ali industry Karachi, 7) Nisar Brand cooking Oil M/s Sharif Solvent Kunri, 8) Pacific Brand Bansapati M/s. Pacific Oil Mills Karachi, 9) Vinegar Taj Brand M/s Palatable food Company, 10) Zikria Brand Vineger M/s Zikria Harbal Leb Hyderabad.
Un-registered brands included 1) Red Chilli powder M/s Al-Amna Super Store Tandoallahyar, 2) Turmeric Powder M/s Al-Amna Super Store Tandoallahyar, 3) Mubeen Red Chilli Powder, M/s Mubeen food Product Hyderabad, 4) Chan Red chilli powder M/s Chan food Karachi and 5) Irfan Masala M/s Irfan Food Product Hyderabad.
Director General PSQAC Engr. Muhammad Khalid Saddiq said, “We are working to consumer’s satisfaction and to prevent sub-standards products from the markets and to advise manufacturers to get licence and registered with PSQCA.”
He ordered to continue and expand its activities and this mobile testing laboratory will be rotated in all locations of the different cites of Pakistan to control the manufacture of substandard products.
