ISLAMABAD, Aug 5 (TNS): Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has received 10,237 complaints from consumers against different telecom operators including cellular service providers during last three months, of which 9,832 were addressed.The redressal rate of all complaints from telecom consumers was 96.04 per cent.The authority had established a special cell which receives complaints telecom operators including mobile phone, Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL), Long DistancInternational (LDI), Wireless Local Loop (WLL) and Internet Service Providers (ISPs).As per data, PTA receives 3,121 complaints against PTCL during April-June, 2017. Telenor stands at second position as a telecom operator with 2,095 complaints lodged during the same period.
In terms of the segregation of complaints by individual operators, a total of 2,095 complaints were received against Telenor which was 30 per cent of total Cellular Mobile Operator (CMO) related complaints.Cellular mobile subscribers constitute a major part of the overall telecom subscriber base, therefore, the maximum number of complaints belong to this segment. Total number of complaints against CMOs during April-June 2017 stood at 7,002. Mobilink, which has the largest number of consumers, was second with 1,889 i.e. 27 per cent of the complaints were received against it.Zong stood third with 1,432 complaints i.e. with 20 per cent of the total complaints. Ufone had 969 complaints against its various services which make up 14 per cent of the total CMO related complaints, followed by Warid with 617 i.e. 8.8 per cent complaints.
