PTI’s Usman Buzdar elected as CM Punjab



Lahore, Aug. 19 (TNS): Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf’s Sardar Usman Buzdar has been elected as Chief Minister of Punjab.

Buzdar bagged 186 votes while PML-N’s Hamza Shahbaz could secure 159 votes.

The open ballot voting started on 01:00 pm which was earlier scheduled to begin at 11:00am on Sunday, however, the session did not begin until 12:00pm.

Shortly after speaker Pervez Elahi commenced the session, PML-N staged a protest against “rigged polls”.
