Rangers, police joint operation nabs 72


KARACHI July 27 (TNS): In a joint grand operation in Baldia Ittehad Town on Thursday, Rangers and police arrested 51 suspects and recovered weapons.

The security personnel launched search operation in Ittehad Town and detained 51 suspects who failed to prove their identity. The officers also conducted raids in its adjoining areas. One dacoit was killed while two fled the scene during a police encounter in Nazimabad Number 2.

Meanwhile, Punjab Rangers along with police and intelligence agencies have intensified operations against terrorists in the province. Operations were conducted in Lahore, which resulted in apprehension of 21 suspects, including Tehrik-e-Taliban Swat terrorist, unregistered Afghan residents and a kidnapper gang.

Operations have been further intensified on the directions of Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
