Geneva, Dec. 03 (TNS): Senate delegation led by Chairman Senate Standing Committee on Interior Senator A. Rehman Malik reaches Geneva and participating in World e-Parliament Conference 2018 to be held in Geneva, Switzerland from 3rd to 5th December. World e-Parliament Conference 2018 is three days conference organized by Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).
In its opening session today, Senator A. Rehman Malik who is leading the delegation addressed the conference and urged for the equal rights and importance of all countries in such international forums. He said that today most of our problems are same as half of the world is facing terrorism so there should be a forum where experiences can be shared and combined laws against such crimes can be formulated. He said we all are heading towards Global Parliament and from this forum I am proposing Global Parliament with equal representation of all countries.
Senator A. Rehman Malik said that sadly UNO has miserably failed and perhaps it is the time that we should have global Parliament to resolve the pressing issues being faced by the world. He said that still we need only international forums which are free of the greater influences of the world powers. Senator A. Rehman Malik said that World Powers and their right of veto power are major hurdle in the way of justice.
Among the others are Senator Atta Ur Rehman and Senator Rana Maqbool Ahmed are members of the delegation representing Pakistan in Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), Geneva and assisted by officials of Senate and Foreign Ministry of Pakistan.
The participants from International community highly appreciated the valid points raised by Senator A. Rehman Malik saying that he truly represented Pakistan and the developing world.
