Shoaib Sheikh jailed for 7 years in Axact fake degrees case


Islamabad,July 5 (TNS): Shoaib Sheikh, along with 23 others were announced imprisonment of 7 years in the axact fake degree case by the district and sessions court in Islamabad on Thursday.

On conclusion of the hearing, District and sessions court judge Chaudhry Mumtaz Hussain announced the verdict.

The judge of the trial court had earlier barred the Axact CEO and owner of BOL channel among the other accused.

Additional district and sessions judge Pervaiz-ul-Qadir Memon finally admitted that he received Rs 5 Million for acquitting Shoaib Sheikh.

The Federal Investigation Agency later filed an appeal against the acquittal of Shoaib Sheikh and the other accused in the case in Islamabad High Court (IHC).
The IHC declared the decision of the acquittal as null and directed the sessions court to listen to the final arguments again and then announce the verdict of the case.
