Slain policeman’s family denies pardoning ‘killer’ MPA

Quetta June 29 (TNS): In a dramatic twist of facts, it emerged on Thursday that the reported agreement affidavit between the family of the slain police sub-inspector Haji Attaulla and Balochistan MPA Abdul Majeed Khan Achakzai turned out to be a fake document.

The fake agreement letter, which was widely circulated on the social media, had claimed that the family of the deceased policeman had pardoned the MPA after taking Rs200,000 and decided not to pursue the case against the legislator.

The family immediately reacted to the fake agreement circulating on the social media stating that family has not entered into any agreement with the MPA and signatures of some family members have been taken fraudulently.

Moazzam Attaullah, the son of the deceased police official, said that neither have they reached any agreement nor were they willing to compromise and the law must its course.

He said that Ziarat Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Rafique showed up at their home for Fateha and to express Eid greeting to the family. “He gave us Rs200,000 Eidi and unfurled a blank paper asking us to sign and write that we received the Eidi amount,” Moazzam said.

“They have taken signatures of my grandfather and uncle through deceit,” he said adding that the family will not forgive their father’s killer.

Meanwhile, MPA Achakzai, whose vehicle had hit and killed the traffic policeman in GPO Chowk in Quetta last week, will be produced before a local court on Thursday (today) after his five-day physical remand ended on Wednesday.
