Samoa, the tiny pacific island was the first country to welcome in 2018, with New Zealand following an hour later.
Half a ton of fireworks were set off from Auckland’s Sky Tower as the clock struck midnight at 11am GMT.
Meanwhile, Australians welcomed 2018 with rainbow-themed fireworks in Sydney.
About 1.6 million people attended the fireworks around the edge of Sydney Harbor.
Hundreds of Indonesian couples celebrated New Year’s Eve on Sunday night by tying the knot in a mass wedding in the capital Jakarta.
Nearly 450 couples gathered in a large tent in the city center just hours before midnight to pray with their families before signing marriage certificates. Government officials oversaw each brief ceremony.
