Mumbai June 29 (TNS): Tubelight ‘, starring Salman Khan in the lead, faced a dip at the box office as it collected Rs 11.75 crore on its first Tuesday. The film directed by Kabir Khan is now inching closer to the 100-crore mark with a total five-day collection of Rs 93 crore, according to reports on Boxofficeindia.com.
Though a little below the expected response for a Salman Khan film, ‘Tubelight ‘ saw an average collection on the festival of Eid, which was a national holiday. The film has taken the second spot in the highest first-day grossers of 2017, behind S.S. Rajamouli’s ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’.
‘Tubelight’ is an entertaining family drama, set in a small town in the hills of northern India, and tells the story of one man’s love for his family and his unshakeable belief in himself. After ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, Kabir Khan and Salman Khan come together to tell another heart-warming story about the power of doing good. Courtesy The Times of India
