Turkish PM lauds Pakistan role in Muslim world


Ankara, June 22 (TNS): Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yaldarim appreciated the positive role Pakistan is playing in the region and in the larger Muslim world.

The appreciation came during his meeting with Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa in Turkey on Thursday.

The duo discussed matters related to regional security and commonality of challenges facing the two brotherly countries.

The Turkish Prime Minister reiterated Turkish support for Pakistan’s stance on Kashmir.

COAS thanked the Prime Minister for Turkish support to Pakistan in various international platforms.

COAS thanked him, saying Pakistan and Turkey share the same stance on many issues and Pakistan supports Turkey’s position on Cyprus as well as its efforts against terrorism of all hue and colour.

The army chief is on official visit of Turkey where he met top military and civilian leadership including Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Defence Minister Fikri Isik.

Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa was also awarded a Legion of Merit for promotion of defence ties between Islamabad and Ankara.
