US, Japan launch joint military exercises


CALIFORNIA Jan 13 (TNS): The United States and Japan have launched joint military exercises amid tensions with North Korea over its nuclear and ballistic missile programs.

The 13th annual Iron Fist exercises are taking place in the US state of California and will continue till 12th of February.

Over five hundred US Marines and sailors are partnering with about 350 members of the Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force to train in fire support operations and amphibious assaults.
