Islamabad: Jan 07, 2022 (TNS): Rawalpindi; The Inspector General of Police Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan has directed the traffic wardens and police personnel in all districts of the province to perform their duties with utmost diligence and commitment during the ongoing wave of rains. IG Punjab directed that the traffic police personnel in all the districts of the province should maintain the flow of traffic in all cases and consider it their motto to help the citizens. Rao Sardar Ali Khan said that help and guidance should also be provided to the citizens who are facing difficulties due to obstruction of vehicles or motorbikes on the highways while Dolphin Police personnel should also provide all possible help and assistance to the citizens who are facing difficulties during patrolling. IG Punjab directed all the District Chief Traffic Officers of province to personally go out in the field and monitor the continuous flow of traffic at important places.
Rao Sardar Ali Khan said that Punjab Highway Patrol personnel should improve the traffic management on main highways for convenience of citizens. Police and Traffic teams should work together to ensure concrete measures to prevent accidents by effective coordination during rains.

IG Punjab directed that additional personnel of Rawalpindi Police Wardens be deployed to maintain flow of traffic on the highways of Murree so that in case of any disturbance to the tourists on the highways of Murree, immediate assistance could be provided. Rao Sardar Ali Khan said that Murree Police should use all available resources to ensure all possible measures, especially on weekends, to guide tourists and ensure smooth flow of traffic. He issued these instructions to all the supervisory officers of province via wireless today. IG Punjab directed the officers along with the traffic wardens to be present on the main highways, intersections and busy points while ensuring provision of umbrellas, rain coats and other necessary equipment to the traffic personnel.
He said that during the rainy season, the citizens should be made aware of careful driving and use of fog lights in open areas to avoid accidents. Rao Sardar Ali Khan directed that motorbikes or vehicles should not be allowed to accumulate at any place including underpasses so that there would be no unnecessary pressure of traffic and smooth flow of traffic would be ensured. He further said that traffic wardens should be on duty during night at recreational places and provide assistance and guidance to the citizens.It is to be noted that on the instructions of Traffic Warden Inspector General of Police Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan, police personnel from all over the province are performing rain at different places. Citizens have paid tribute to the policemen for paying their dues during the rains. According to the Meteorological Department, the rains will continue intermittently and the monsoon spell will continue to rain in the city till Sunday. After the rains, the situation remained the same in the city. The traffic system on the roads also became chaotic and the citizens faced severe problems.
