Ukraine: Feb 18, 2022 (TNS): Moscow-backed separatists have announced that they will evacuate civilians from Ukraine to Russia in the wake of growing escalation in fighting.
The announcement was made by heads of self-proclaimed Luhansk People’s Republic and Donetsk People’s Republic after the rebels and Ukraine’s government traded fresh accusations of shelling and other ceasefire violations in the Donbas region.
Meanwhile, Western powers continued to voice alarm over Moscow’s massing of more than 100,000 troops around Ukraine’s borders.
