Islamabad, July 29 (TNS): Imran Khan, chief of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, has surprised the nation by nominating Sheikh Rashid as opposition’s joint candidate for the PM contest.

“Awami Muslim League leader Sheikh Rasheed will be our candidate for PM slot which was vacated after the apex court ruling which disqualified Nawaz Sharif”, Khan said while chairing PTI parliamentary meeting at his Bani Gala residence.

He criticized ruling PML-N for choosing Shahbaz Sharif as next premier.

“The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz would further damage the party and its cause by nominating CM Punjab as the prime minister,” Imran Khan added.

“Shehbaz Sharif’s name came up in case of Hudaibiya Paper Mills scandal and PTI would file a reference against Shahbaz too,” he said asking that “did not the PML-N have any better candidate for Premiership than Shehbaz Sharif?”

Imran Khan said that his party is well-prepared this time as they had learnt a lot from the rigging in last general polls.

He vowed that PTI would not allow Pakistan to fall into the rule of corruption again.

Khan commenting on Supreme Court’s verdict said that disqualification of Nawaz Sharif was an epic triumph achieved through hard work and endurance.
