Islamabad: Jun 02, 2022 (TNS): 2nd consignment of humanitarian assistance was handed over today at Nur Khan Base Rawalpindi to Ukrainian authorities. The ceremony was attended by Hina Rabbani Khan, foreign minister for state and Mr Markian Chuchuk, Ukrainian ambassador to Pakistan and Chairman NDMA. At the airbase, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs handed over the aid to Ukrainian Ambassador. Second consignment contains medicines, blankets and rations. 2 x C-130s will be carrying assistance to Warsaw, Poland for onward dispatch to Ukraine. Pakistan has already provided 22.5 tons of humanitarian aid to Ukraine from March till May. Ms Hina Rabbani Khar stated that Pakistan values bilateral relations with Ukraine which are spread over three decades. She further said that government of Pakistan had also provided humanitarian assistance for people of Ukraine earlier as well. While showing concern over ongoing war between Russian and Ukraine, she said that both countries should resolve the issue through dialogue and diplomacy. Ukrainian Ambassador thanked the government and people of Pakistan for remembering people of Ukraine at this difficult time. He further stated that people of Ukraine consider this assistance as a great gesture of good will from people of Pakistan.
