New air chief assumes charge of command

Islamabad March 19 (TNS): Air Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan on Monday assumed charge as 22nd Chief of Air Staff at a change of command ceremony held in Islamabad.

The outgoing air chief Sohail Aman handed over the sword to the new air chief and pinned badges on his shoulders. On the occasion, the retiring air chief was presented a guard of honour by a contingent of the Pakistan Air Force while JF-17 thunder jets hovered over the air to present a salute to him.

In his sendoff speech, Sohail Aman said the PAF was fully equipped with the state-of-the-art weapons having highly trained professionals, who were ready to guard the territorial boundaries of the motherland.

He said that the PAF also contributed to the education and health sectors besides producing JF-17 fighter jets.

Air Marshal Mujahid was commissioned in the PAF ij December, 1983 and he is the recipient of coveted Sword of Honour, Best Pilot Trophy and Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Gold Medal from PAF Academy Asghar Khan.
