Historical Bonding between Pakistan and Uzbekistan discussed at Radio Program

On 11 February 2023, His Excellency Aybek Arif Usmanov, Ambassador of the
Republic of Uzbekistan to Pakistan, and Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram, Executive
Director, Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future
(PRCCSF) & Editor in Chief The Daily Big Digit (Pakistan) participated in an exclusive
radio program organized by FM 87.6 Radio Pakistan on the eve of 540th birthday of
the Founder of Mughal Dynasty Zaheer ud-din Muhammad Babur.
This program was specially arranged by Radio Pakistan Planet FM 87.6 and was
produced by Mr. Imran Javed, Deputy Controller (Programmes) Radio Pakistan.
H.E Aybek Arif Usmanov discussed Zaheer ud-din who was a great statesman, leader
and commander whose authority extended over nearly the whole of northern India
and Babur made Delhi the capital of the Mughal Empire. He also explained Babur’s
achievements and the great legacy he left moreover not only he was a great
historical figure but also his legacy is connecting both Pakistan and Uzbekistan. He
also explicited that the 15th century was known as the Renaissance of Central Asia.
In addition, he also mentioned how President of Uzkbekistan and Prime Minister of
Pakistan are cooperating furthermore there are economic political, and cultural ties
between the two nations. In this realm, the history department of Punjab university

created Zaheer ud-din center of his legacy moreover he vehemently praised the role
of Dr. Mahboob Hussain, chairman of the history department, University of Punjab in
enhancing the bilateral relations between the two countries. He also mentioned the
great game changer Trans-Afghan railway project paramount in regional integration
Mr. Khalid Taimur discussed the significance of bilateral relations between Pakistan and
Uzbekistan. He stated that both countries have a good outlook toward regional
connectivity and especially within the curriculum of Pakistan the role of Zaheer uddin Babar has been praised. He also praised President Shavkat mirziyoyev’s efforts
in this regard and how history has played a role in connecting the region of South
Asia and Central Asia. They both agreed that economy, transport, and trade must be
a focus of both states moreover how radio channels can give a systemic way to forge
peaceful relations and cooperation between both countries.
