Karim Khan Afridi Welfare Foundation, in partnership with Serena Hotel is organising the upcoming seminar on “Early Drug Prevention Strategies: The Future of Youth.” KKAWF is a leading organization for youth empowerment and well-being and working for raising drug prevention awareness, building knowledge and life-skills, The Seminar will bring together experts, including special guest Dr. Mousa Daoud Al-Tarefi, President of the Jordan Anti-Drugs Society, senior government officials, diplomats, civil society, educational institutions, youth and media representatives to discuss and explore effective strategies to prevent drug abuse among youth.

 

Federal Minister for Inter provincial coordination Mr Ehsan ur Rehman Mazari will address the closing session of the Seminar.

 

Pakistan, with an estimated 8.9 million drug users and more than 4 million addicts (2015) in the country. continues today to witness an alarming rate of increase in illicit drug and substance abuse. The majority of this addiction is hitting the estimated 150+ million young boys and girls under the age of 30. Despite these harsh realities, there is scanty attention to strengthening delivery of Prevention awareness and knowledge among youth in the country. With substance abuse posing a significant threat to the physical and mental well-being of our youth, it is imperative to adopt policies that address this issue at its root. The seminar will shed light on evidence-based prevention strategies, innovative approaches, and the role of various stakeholders in creating a drug-free environment for our future generations. Key topics to be covered during the seminar include:
