Army Chief General Asim Munir met Saudi Arabia’s Assistant Defense Minister Major General Talal bin Abdullah Al-Otaibi, during which they discussed issues of mutual interest, defense production and military training, including measures to further increase bilateral defense cooperation. In a statement issued by the Public Relations Department of the Pakistan Army (ISPR), it has been stated that in the meeting, the Army Chief confirmed the continued support of the Pakistan Army for increasing the capabilities of the Royal Saudi Land Forces. The ISPR said that the distinguished guest acknowledged the achievements, sacrifices and services of the Pakistan Army in the war against terrorism and for regional peace and stability. According to the statement, the distinguished guest participated in the 5th Pakistan-Saudi Arabia defense cooperation meeting held at General Headquarters GHQ and jointly chaired the meeting with Pakistan’s Chief of General Staff. ISPR said that the forum discussed global and regional security challenges and their impact on the defense forces. The need for cooperation has increased. According to ISPR, both sides reiterated their commitment to strengthen their efforts for defense cooperation, in this context proposals were also considered by the forum to meet concrete objectives within the specified timeline.
