PM rules out compromise on quality, transparency in development projects

ISLAMABAD, Aug 5 (TNS): Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has directed for timely completion of development projects without compromising on the quality of civil works and transparency.

He was speaking after a briefing by Chairman National Highway Authority about road projects in Islamabad.

The Prime Minister was told that construction of the Western Route of China Pakistan Economic Corridor is among the top priorities due to enormous economic benefits it entails.

It was also informed that work on D.I. Khan Expressway is in full swing and will be completed by next year at a cost of around 122 billion rupees.

The NHA Chairman said timely construction of Peshawar-Karachi Motorway is another priority project.

The motorway is expected to be completed by the end of this year at a cost of 34 billion rupees whereas Havelian-Thakot and Sukkur-Multan Motorway will be completed by 2019.

The Prime Minister was informed that Karachi–Hyderabad Motorway will be completed this year whereas Multan–Lahore Motorway is being completed at a cost of 149 billion rupees.
