Some people poison the youth for their politics. Those who laid the foundation for this narrative and propaganda are the real culprits. Therefore, the justice process will continue till then. Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that the point of view of the Pakistani army regarding May 9 is clear, unambiguous and consistent that May 9 is not the issue of the Pakistani army but of the people of Pakistan. If a misguided, armed and violent group wants to impose its will and thinking on the society in this way and this behavior is not stopped according to the constitution and law, then in which direction will we take the society? The decision of the military courts on the sentences given to the accused of the May 9 tragedy sends a clear message that there is no room for such matters and if anyone is involved in such matters in the future, he will be punished in accordance with the constitution and law. Regarding the narrative being made about civilian supremacy and lack of transparency in military courts, it is important to know that military courts in Pakistan have been established for decades in accordance with the constitution and law and they meet all the requirements of justice well. The International Court of Justice has also supported its entire process. In military courts, all legal rights are provided, including hiring a lawyer, presenting evidence, bringing witnesses, and making a complaint, and if the criminals are convicted, they have the right to appeal not only to the Army Chief in the court of appeal but also to the High Court and the Supreme Court. He clarified that the military court decisions were also announced after the Supreme Court order. When there is no legal and moral justification for the events of May 9, propaganda is made regarding the procedures of the military court. He said that the interesting thing is that those who talk about military courts today were its biggest advocates yesterday. Then if we have punished the servants of our agencies under our law, then these anarchists should be happy, but now they are worried because in their lust for power, they have crossed the limits of hypocrisy and deceit. He demanded that the cases of May 9 in the anti-terrorism courts should also reach an end. If we look at the world, the riots that took place in London in July this year over false social media posts have rapidly involved not only adults but also children. Minors have also been sentenced, how quickly were the accused punished when the Capitol Hill was attacked in 2020? He said that earlier in 2011, more than 1200 accused were sentenced quickly in London, in 2023, more than 700 people were sentenced in days in the riots in France, political anarchists are not given a place anywhere in the world. The Pakistan Army is not against any political party, nor does it support any specific party, any officer who puts the country’s interest behind politics will have to answer according to the law. When their political leadership fled the protest, ‘fake content’ was made viral on social media because these people are confident that they can create any narrative and spread propaganda through social media. The DG ISPR said that tribal and land disputes have been going on in the Parachinar area of Kurram Agency for decades. The problems there were given a sectarian color so that the real issue was not resolved. It has to be resolved by the provincial government and local politicians. The problem can be resolved through dialogue with consensus. The purpose of giving this issue a sectarian color was to gain time to engage in chaotic politics. It is regrettable to prolong this issue. God forbid, if the issue is delayed, further damage may occur. Therefore, local politicians should work to resolve the issues in a timely manner. The army will fulfill the responsibility given to it. This is not a terrorism issue. The DG ISPR said that despite repeated warnings, Fitna al-Kharij and other terrorists from the soil of Afghanistan are continuously carrying out terrorism in Pakistan. Afghanistan should not give priority to foreigners and terrorists over Pakistan. The fabric and evidence of terrorism in Pakistan go to the hideouts of terrorists in Afghanistan. Local students were given admission in Army Public Schools and Cadet Colleges under the Chief of Army Staff Education Program. Youth were recruited into the forces. Many infrastructure restoration projects were completed, and work is underway on some. Hundreds of medical camps were set up in Pakhtunkhwa during the floods, and all possible support was provided to the victims. The DG ISPR said that relief programs are also ongoing in Balochistan. The rate of socio-economic projects in Balochistan is higher than other provinces, so that the ongoing negative propaganda regarding Balochistan can be broken. Many important projects were completed in Balochistan with the cooperation of the United Arab Emirates and China, for which we are grateful to friendly countries. Some projects are still ongoing. The Kachhi Canal project in Balochistan is irrigating 65,000 canals of land. DG ISPR said that more than 100 kilometers of railway track between Sibi and Harnai was repaired and opened after 17 years. With the special attention of the Army Chief, work is underway on many projects including health, education, and water supply in Gwadar. The completion of the Chaman Master Plan is an important milestone. A modern system is being installed to facilitate trade at Chaman and Torkham borders, after which the clearance time will be further reduced. 90 percent of the work has been completed. This project will be completed in 3 months. Safe City Project in Quetta, Joint Assistant Markets have been established on the Pak-Afghan border. The spokesperson of the Pakistan Army said that the Pakistan Army is famous all over the world for its rigorous training. The element of passion and sacrifice is an important component in our training. The aim of this training is to combat traditional and unconventional threats. The Pakistan Army is one of the few forces in the world whose officers lead operations. The motto of our training is ‘We train as we fight, we fight as we train’. Due to the orders of the Army Chief regarding training, training exercises are being conducted in abundance. We are in the second year of a three-year program, in which formation-level exercises are being conducted. Army-level exercises will be conducted in the year 2025. More than 183 units of the Army participated in the exercises in 2024, almost the same number will participate in combat exercises in 2025.
