ISLAMABAD (TNS) Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif will pay a two-day official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from February 10 to 11, 2025, to attend the World Government Summit (WGS) at the invitation of UAE Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. According to a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry Spokesperson on Sunday, the meeting, chaired by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has invited a large number of heads of state/government, global policymakers and leading private sector leaders to discuss governance, innovation and the future of international cooperation. This is Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif’s second visit to the UAE after assuming office in March 2024. The Prime Minister will be accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar and other key cabinet members and a high-level delegation, reflecting Pakistan’s strong commitment to deepening its relations with the UAE and other global partners. During his visit, the Prime Minister will deliver a keynote address to the WGS, highlighting Pakistan’s vision for inclusive economic growth, digital transformation and governance reforms. He will also hold bilateral meetings with the UAE leadership and meet with Heads of State/Government of the participating countries and leading CEOs of leading multinational companies. Pakistan and the UAE enjoy deep brotherly relations based on mutual trust, understanding and long-standing mutually beneficial cooperation. The UAE is one of Pakistan’s key economic and strategic partners, with strong cooperation between the two countries in a number of areas. The UAE has a large Pakistani diaspora, making it the second largest Pakistani diaspora community in the world. Pakistani diaspora is playing an important role in the development and success of both countries and is a bridge to promote bilateral cooperation. The Prime Minister’s visit to the UAE will help further strengthen bilateral relations, promote broader economic cooperation, and explore new avenues of partnership for mutual prosperity.
