ISLAMABAD (TNS) In the 11th match of the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League, Karachi Kings defeated Peshawar Zalmi by 2 wickets after an exciting match. In the match played at the National Bank Stadium, Peshawar Zalmi, batting first, scored 147 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs on a difficult wicket. In pursuit of the target, Peshawar Zalmi showed good bowling, however, David Warner played a responsible innings and scored his first half-century in the PSL, Karachi Kings achieved the desired target with 3 balls to spare for the loss of 8 wickets.


In pursuit of the target, Karachi Kings did not have a good start either. Tim Seifert returned to the pavilion without opening his account on the first ball of the innings, after which James Vince was also dismissed after scoring just 11 runs in the third over. Saad Baig’s innings was also limited to 9 runs, Irfan Niazi was a guest of 10 runs, Mohammad Nabi scored 14 runs, Abbas Afridi was a guest of 2 runs. Karachi Kings captain David Warner remained steadfast in one end despite the fall of wickets and completed his first half-century in the PSL. He was dismissed after scoring 60 runs, while Khushdil Shah remained unbeaten on 23 runs. For Peshawar Zalmi, Lakewood took 3 wickets, Ali Raza took 2 wickets, Alzari Joseph and Arif Yaqoob took 2 wickets each. Earlier, Karachi Kings captain David Warner won the toss and invited Zalmi to bat first. Saim Ayub, who opened the innings for Peshawar Zalmi, proved to be a guest of only 4 runs. Tom Kohler-Codmore, who played an aggressive innings in the previous match, returned to the pavilion after scoring only 7 runs, while Babar Azam could not complete his half-century despite getting several opportunities, he was dismissed for 46 runs.


Muhammad Haris played an innings of 28 runs, Hussain Talat was dismissed for 18 runs, Mitchell Owen 5 and Abdul Samad 2 runs were the guests while Al-Zari Joseph played an aggressive innings of 24 runs off 13 balls. For Karachi Kings, Abbas Afridi and Khushdil Shah took 3 wickets each while Mir Hamza and Aamir Jamal took one wicket each.
Peshawar Zalmi made no changes to their team and fielded the winning playing XI against Multan Sultans, while Karachi Kings also decided to go with the squad that lost against Islamabad United the previous day. It should be noted that Karachi Kings have played 4 matches in the tournament so far, winning 2 and losing 2, while Peshawar Zalmi has played 3 matches so far, losing 2 and winning 1. Karachi Kings defeated Multan Sultans and Quetta Gladiators, while they were defeated by Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United.


Peshawar Zalmi was defeated by Quetta Gladiators by 80 runs in the first match, while Islamabad United defeated them by a large margin of 102 runs in the second match, while Zalmi’s first victory against Multan Sultans was by 120 runs
