ISLAMABAD (TNS) In a remarkable display of efficiency, courage, and swift action, officers of the National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP), Beat 10, Sector North -III, successfully intercepted and apprehended two armed robbers during a routine patrol. The operation not only prevented a robbery in progress but also reinforced the public’s trust in the force’s readiness and dedication to ensuring commuter safety.

According to official sources, the incident occurred when NHMP personnel were conducting a routine patrol along a designated area of highway. They were suddenly approached by a visibly distressed passerby who reported that a group of armed individuals was actively looting road user at gunpoint just a short distance away.

Demonstrating quick response and coordination, the officers immediately sprang into action, initiating a tactical pursuit of the suspects. Upon spotting the patrol vehicle, the robbers attempted to flee the scene. However, despite their efforts to escape, the suspects were swiftly overpowered and arrested by the patrolling officers without any exchange of fire or injuries.

A thorough search of the suspects led to the recovery of a pistol with live ammunition, a significant amount of looted cash, multiple mobile phones, and the motorcycle used in the attempted crime. The professionalism and restraint exhibited by the NHMP officers during the high-pressure situation were widely praised by both onlookers and senior officials.

The arrested individuals, along with the recovered items, were formally handed over to the local police for further investigation and legal proceedings. This handover took place in the presence of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Beat 10, Syed Asad Abbas, and Admin Officer Inspector Altaf Hussain, ensuring full transparency and procedural compliance.

This successful operation marks the third such intervention by the Motorway Police in the current month alone, highlighting the force’s proactive approach to crime prevention and its unwavering commitment to public safety.
