KARACHI (TNS) Massive Corruption Alleged at Karachi’s NICVD; The Inquiry Will Now Be Handled by Sindh’s Anti-Corruption

KARACHI (TNS)(Report pirbux Noonari)Karachi The Sindh government has taken serious notice of alleged multi-billion rupee corruption, mismanagement, and nepotism at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD), Karachi. Under a new ordinance, the inquiry will now be handled by Sindh’s Anti-Corruption Department instead of NAB Karachi.

NAB Karachi has sent a formal letter to the Chief Secretary of Sindh, requesting an investigation into the alleged corruption at NICVD. The letter highlights unauthorized appointments, granting of illegal allowances and perks worth billions to favored officers and staff.

Additionally, NAB pointed out that contracts worth billions were awarded to preferred contractors in violation of regulations, with bribes reportedly involved. The letter also raises concerns about abuse of power and financial irregularities within the institute.
