Islamabad, June 17, 2025 (TNS):A delegation from the Alumni Association of Abbottabad Public School visited the Parliament House and met with Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq.The Speaker welcomed the delegation, and praised Abbottabad Public School as one of the country’s leading educational institutions, noting the key roles its alumni play across various sectors nationwide.
During the meeting, the members of delegation were briefed about legislative process and structure of the parliamentary system, underscoring the significance of standing committees in ensuring detailed deliberations on national matters.
He also added that Parliamentary Forums including the Women’s Parliamentary Caucus, Parliamentary Caucus on Child Rights, Young Parliamentarians Forum, and the SDGs Secretariat were formed in the National Assembly. These platforms, he said, aim to address the challenges faced by women, children, and youth, and have now been extended to all provinces, Legislative Assembly of Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly to help resolve shared concerns.
The Speaker further added that the National Assembly’s Internship Program, initiated in 2014, continues to engage young people in understanding legislative process and democratic values.
The delegation appreciated the Speaker’s nonpartisan leadership and effective conduct of the Assembly’s proceedings, which they observed during their visit.
