LAHORE Date: 18 June, 2025 (TNS): Print, Digital & TV Media Coverage Request for Peaceful Protest by All
Pakistan Vaping Association on 20th June
The All Pakistan Vaping Association is organizing a peaceful protest on Friday, 20th
June 2025, in front of the Punjab Assembly, Lahore,
from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, in
response to the recent vape ban in Punjab.
This protest is being held to raise serious concerns regarding the following:
● The government has imposed a sudden ban on vaping — a product widely
considered less harmful than cigarettes — while cigarettes
remain legal. If public
health is the goal, the selective ban raises major questions.
● This move seems aimed at protecting cigarette sales, potentially influenced by
political or commercial links with large tobacco companies.
● With this ban, approximately 3,000 businesses and 20,000 jobs are directly
impacted, while nearly two million vape users are at risk of reverting to cigarette
smoking to meet their nicotine needs — ultimately reversing years of
harm-reduction progress.
Adding to the concern, no official notification regarding the ban has been issued.
However, law enforcement and other authorities have reportedly been pressuring local
retailers to shut down vape shops. In many cases, individuals are being harassed or
made to pay unofficial fines before being allowed to leave — creating widespread
confusion and disruption in the market
We invite your platform to cover this protest and report on the current situation. We’re
available to share further details if needed.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
