Fateh Jang ISLAMABAD (TNS)– In a bold and high-stakes operation, Price Control Magistrate Chaudhry Shafqat Mehmood, renowned for his fearless crackdowns, led a late-night raid that thwarted one of the largest wheat smuggling attempts in the region. Acting on intelligence reports during the early hours on the CPEC route, Shafqat Mehmood, in coordination with DSP Aslam Dogar, SHO Mujahid Abbas, Check Post Incharge Syed Kamran, and Moharrar Haseeb Ahmed, intercepted 20 suspicious trucks.

Upon inspection, the trucks were found carrying 232 tons of wheat and bran being transported illegally towards Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Under Mehmood’s direct supervision, the trucks and their consignments were seized and handed over to the Fateh Jang police for further legal proceedings.

The swift and decisive action was soon reported to the district and provincial authorities. Both the Deputy Commissioner Attock and the District Police Officer Attock praised Chaudhry Shafqat Mehmood’s efforts and lauded the police team for their timely intervention.

The bust has triggered widespread appreciation from the local population, who hailed the crackdown as a major step against profiteering and black-marketing. Many residents have expressed hope that the officials involved, particularly Chaudhry Shafqat Mehmood, will be honored with special recognition and rewards for their dedicated service.
