In a decisive push to restore law and order, Khanewal police have launched a full-scale crackdown under the leadership of the District Police Officer (DPO). Acting as the operational commander, the DPO is directly supervising every front of the anti-crime drive, ensuring swift action and strict accountability.
During a high-level meeting at the DPO office with SDPOs, SHOs, and investigation officers, the DPO directed that heinous crimes — including murder, attempted murder, robbery, burglary, snatching, and street crime — must be curbed with zero tolerance. He ordered an intensified operation against dacoit gangs, full recovery of stolen property, and indiscriminate action against drug traffickers and illegal arms holders.
Police records reveal significant achievements in 2025 compared to the previous year: 106 dacoit gangs dismantled, 240 suspects arrested, stolen property worth Rs151.3 million recovered, 32 major drug networks eliminated, and 766 kilograms of narcotics seized. In addition, ten armed encounters took place, resulting in the recovery of weapons, vehicles, motorcycles, mobile phones, and other valuables.
“The foremost mission of the police is to safeguard the lives and property of citizens, and no negligence or leniency will be tolerated,” the DPO declared, stressing merit-based investigations and timely submission of challans in courts. He further emphasized that every complainant visiting police stations must be treated with dignity, as public trust is the foundation of police credibility.
Enhanced patrolling and foolproof checkpoints have been established across the district, with continuous monitoring of suspicious individuals to ensure preventive policing.
The DPO reiterated that the Khanewal police are not merely an enforcement body but a public service mission. Under his leadership, the force has adopted an integrated and uncompromising strategy aimed at the total elimination of crime.
