Rawalpindi (TNS) Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka by 6 runs in the first one-day match after an exciting contest. In the match played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, the Sri Lankan team could only score 293 runs for 9 wickets in the stipulated 50 overs in pursuit of a target of 300 runs. Pakistan’s all-rounder Salman Ali Agha scored a magnificent unbeaten century against the Sri Lankan bowling line.

Salman Ali Agha scored a century off 83 balls with the help of 9 fours. He returned to the pavilion with 105 runs not out off 87 balls, this is his second century in one-day cricket. Muhammad Nawaz, who shared a 66-run partnership with Salman Ali Agha for the sixth wicket, remained not out after scoring 36 runs. Among other players, Hussain Talat (62), Fakhar Zaman (32) and Babar Azam (29) were the prominent batsmen, while Saim Ayub (6) and Mohammad Rizwan (5) scored 5 runs.
