ISLAMABAD (TNS) Within the limits of Khanna Circle, rising crimes, land grabbing groups, property mafia, fake currency, gambling, money on interest, and drug trafficking, along with prostitution dens in residential plazas, have forced residents to migrate. The business of selling ice, hashish and heroin, along with liquor, is openly being conducted through mobile numbers. Criminal elements are engaged in the trade of all kinds of weapons. Illegal Afghan residents living in Khanna Circle are involved in theft and robbery incidents. Residents feel frightened while passing through deserted roads. Due to incidents of robbing motorcyclists at gunpoint, citizens have become cautious even for shopping. Traders are protesting due to the lack of rush. Because of criminal elements, in incidents of theft, dacoity and robbery, citizens are deprived of cash, mobile phones, watches and other valuable items. Due to the increasing incidents, traders in the area are forced to keep personal guards. Educational institutions, offices and banks have made their own security arrangements. Residents, traders and citizens belonging to other circles have appealed to the IG Islamabad for the elimination of rising incidents and against drug trafficking in the area, stating that a grand operation is needed for law and order in Khanna Circle.
