Islamabad (TNS) President Zardari assents to key bills, approves establishment of Federal Constitutional Court registries

Islamabad, March 5, 2026 (TNS): President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari has given assent to several important bills passed by Parliament and approved multiple related summaries, according to a statement issued by the President’s Secretariat on Thursday.

Among the legislations approved by the president are the Virtual Assets Bill, 2026, the Islamabad Capital Territory Senior Citizens (Amendment) Bill, 2026, the Privatisation Commission (Amendment) Bill, 2026, the Cannabis Control and Regulatory Authority (Amendment) Bill, 2026 and the NAB (Amendment) Bill, 2026.

The president also approved amendments to the Federal Constitutional Court Judges (Leave, Pension & Privileges) Order, 2025.

In addition to the legislative approvals, the president sanctioned the reconstitution of the Islamabad Subordinate Judiciary Service Tribunal.

He further approved the establishment of branch registries of the Federal Constitutional Court of Pakistan in the major cities of Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar and Quetta.

According to the statement, the approvals are aimed at strengthening the legal and institutional framework and improving access to judicial services across the country.
