LAHORE Aug. 14 (TNS): Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Sirajul Haq on Monday vowed to resist any attempt to repeal Article 62 and 63 of the constitution.

Talking to newsmen after attending flag hoisting ceremony at Mansoorah, the JI chief said that those talking about amending the constitution must listen that the constitution would not be allowed to be changed at any cost. He advised the proponents of amendments to the constitution to impalement it in letter and spirit instead of hanging it.

Felicitating the nation on the 70th Independence Day, Haq said that Pakistan was secured after unparalleled sacrifices. He added that Pakistan was an ideological country and 20 million people were its protectors.

He added that there was a need to ensure rule of law instead of rule of individual. He urged the nation to get united against those attempting to change the constitution of Pakistan.
