FAISALABAD 14 Aug. (TNS):  Law Minister Punjab Rana Sanaullah has said that Pakistan has failed to become the welfare state which Quaid-e-Azam dreamt it to be because a country founded on the basis of vote was made to run at gunpoint.

Addressing Independence Day ceremony here Sanaullah saluting all those who laid down their lives defending the freedom of the country during last 70 years said that it is due to them that the nation is celebrating the Independence Day today.

Unfortunately, a country gaining independence after long political struggle was run by invisible powers. Twenty years ago Pakistan was a powerful country under the leadership of civilian prime minister Nawaz Sharif and world was talking about it becoming an economic power but then these invisible powers tried to push Pakistan back.

After 10 years Nawaz Sharif once again got the opportunity to put the country on the road but then sit-in wallahs became the obstacle to ultimately send Nawaz Sharif home. However, Nawaz Sharif has vowed that before anything else this time around the peoples’ right to rule has to be accepted and that’s why pro-people powers are standing along with Nawaz Sharif today, he added.
