Lahore, August 15 (TNS): Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) have submitted their objections on Kulsoom Nawaz’s nomination papers to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
PPP candidate Faisal Mir, in his objection, stated that PML-N’s registration became ineligible in ECP after disqualification of Nawaz Sharif in Panama case and no one can contest elections under their party name.
PAT candidate Advocate Ishtiaq Chaudhry in his reservations said that Kulsoom Nawaz didn’t attach Iqama (foreign work permit) in her nomination papers; hence she is now ineligible to take part in the election.
Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) summoned the nominees of NA-120 by-election to check their nomination papers.
PML-M candidate Kulsoom Nawaz and PTI candidate Yasmin Rashid have been summoned by the returning officer on August 16 and August 17 respectively.
Meanwhile, Jamaatud Dawa (JuD) backed Milli Muslim League (MML) has opposed the PML-N candidate for NA-120 by-election and decided to announced their own candidate.
As many as 65 candidates have submitted their nomination papers for the NA-120 seat, which fell vacant after the ouster of Nawaz Sharif.
