President vows to make Pakistan a polio-free country

Islamabad, August 17 (TNS): President Mamnoon Hussain on Thursday vowed to make Pakistan a polio-free country.

Talking to Chairman Rotary International Kalyan Banerjee in Islamabad, Mamnoon Hussain expressed hope that utilizing full capacity Pakistan will soon get rid of the menace of this virus.

The President said the government’s efforts to eradicate polio from the country are yielding positive results.

Hussain further said militancy was a major cause of spread of polio in different parts of the country; however, the menace has now largely been eliminated.
