New PML-N head too facing corruption charges

Islamabad, August 18 (TNS): The newly appointed President of Pakistan Muslim League (N), Senator Sardar Yaqoob Nasir is facing corruption charges and NAB is engaged in investigating the charges against him.

Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was barred to lead the party after the apex court disqualified him from top public office.

It is being said that Mr. Nasir has amassed billions by selling scrap when he was Railway Minister in 1997.

He is being accused of purchasing 300 acre land in Angori road in the vicinity of the Capital city besides building a cold storage in I-9 sector of Islamabad by using his position as a Minister.

He also is said to be enjoying the ownership of luxury Bungalows in the posh areas of Islamabad, Quetta and his ancestral city of Loralai where he is also having some leased coal mines.

According to the report Yaqoob Nasir has concealed his assets in tax documents and has only paid Rs 6000 in this regard.
